Star Festival

七夕(Tanabata, July 7) is said to be a combination of Chinese tradition with beliefs peculiar to Japan.

It celebrates the meeting, just once a year, of two lovers, Hikoboshi (the star Altair, personified as a cowherd) and Orihime (Vega, as a weaving girl), who are separated by the Milky Way on the other days of the year.

In general, a strip of paper to write their wishes are carried out to decorate bamboo leaves.

The sun blooms

The day was cloudy, but we felt better by virtue of yellow flowers.
This is a blessing of the sun, too.
