West Japan in the Edo period(1603-1868), the small size of the clan, many of them narrow alluvial plain too.
Therefore, to increase the incomes of the clan, often paddy fields were made to the slope of mountain.
Tradition of Rice Terraces(棚田, Tanada) is succeeded to now.

What beauty of photos... Green Fields as tapestries, where the rice grows; blue skies and flowers turned pink with his(her,your) aromatic ostentations.
